The very first #ProSense breast cancer cryoablation case was performed by Dr. Shelly Sharma and the talented team at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals , New Delhi - Dr. ramesh sarin and Dr. Parag Kumar. 👩⚕️👏
The patient, a courageous woman in her 70s, successfully underwent cryoablation for a 1.5 cm malignant breast lesion. This minimally invasive procedure took around 30 minutes: 10 minutes freeze, 10 minutes thaw, 10 minutes freeze. ⏱️❄️
❄ Only local anesthesia required – no need for general anesthesia 💉
❄ Minimal scarring – breast tissue remains intact ✨

@IceCureMedicalMedical is proud to share a challenging case of using #ProSense to perform #cryoablation for a desmoid tumor (fibromatosis) by @Tomasz Sędziak at EuroMediCare Hospital in Wrocław, Poland.
Desmoid tumors can grow and damage surrounding tissues and nearby organs, sometimes turning into sarcoma (cancer), often requiring treatments such as surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
In this case, after chemotherapy failed to stop tumor growth, cryoablation was chosen to reduce the risk of potentially spreading the tumor to small foci. Cryoablation can also produce an abscopal effect—an immune response that may help fight cancer cells throughout the body that did not receive direct ablation

❄ Early in the week, the #ProSense System was featured during a workshop on breast cancer cryoablation at the Innovative Procedures for Breast and Thyroid for Surgeons Course in Izmir. Led by Dr Cem Yilmaz, Dr Guldeniz Karadeniz Cakmak, and Dr Umit Ugurlu, the workshop generated a lot of interest in ProSense.

Breast Cancer Patients who Underwent IceCure’s #ProSense #Cryoablation in Japan Reported Significantly Higher Satisfaction than Patients who Underwent Standard of Care Surgery.
❄ Independent study published in Gland Surgery and conducted at Kameda Medical Center in Japan by ProSense users including Dr. Kizuki Matsumoto and Dr. Eisuke Fukuma.
❄ Patients who underwent cryoablation compared to breast-conserving therapy (BCT) reported significantly higher satisfaction (71.0±18.6 vs. 56.3±16.5) in the primary outcome with a mean follow-up of 4.2 and 4.0 years, respectively.
❄ Data support continued move toward de-escalation of breast cancer treatment from BCT (lumpectomy) to nonsurgical options including cryoablation.

@IceCureMedical previously shared the first part of Dr. Bernard Campos's lung cryoablation video, where he successfully ablated a patient’s tumor in the right lung in Brazil. 🫁
In part two of the procedure, Dr. Campos and his team perform #cryoablation with #ProSense on the remaining three nodules in the patient’s left lung by using three introducers (coaxial needles) and ablating the remaining lesions with our single cryoprobe liquid nitrogen-based system.
