I've tweaked how I understand the main structure.
After the intro, I now see 3 sets of 3 sins:
1: sea, manna, Datan
2: calf, spies, Baal Peor
3: Meribah, nations, exile
Each set of 3 progresses forward in time, before circling back in time to the start of the next set.
I'm STILL #memorising #Psalm106, on and off.
Recently noticed an amazing echo between the beginning and the end of the Psalm:
In the 1st description of sin, we:
(1) didn't pay attention
(2) didn't remember the multitude of His kindnesses
(3) rebelled
(4) He saved

I'm still plodding on with #memorisation of #Psalm106, in between other bits and bobs.
I was very struck the other day by verses 34-38,
which have something pretty profound to say to believers about (a) the apparent over-harshness of the Canaanite Conquest (b) thin ends of wedges
Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in his promise. They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the Lord. #Psalm106:24–25 #SOAP2024 #LoveJesus #ObeyJesus #PRAY #BMAGlobal

#BiblicalHebrewPoetry often uses 'vertical parallelism'.
This is where there is similarity in sound, structure, style and/or sense not only horizontally, from the 1st part of the verse to the 2nd, but 'vertically' from one entire verse to the next.

The first sin: sin by the sea, memorised. PTL.
Very struck by 2 things:
1. What disastrous results snowballed from a seemingly 'trivial' initial sin - not paying attention. No more, no less.
2. The section consists of 2 verses of sin, then 4 verses of grace.

1st sin: Reed Sea
Vv. 6-7
Each verse has 3 verbs. The 3 'general' verbs in V6 are alphabetical by root.
V7, the ל of השכילו links to נפלאותיך
The ר at end of זכרו links to רב
3-fold repetition of ים in the final clause, starting with וימרו is surely not coincidental.
