India's largest public sector bank retail, corporate, and international banking plus insurance and wealth management, with a presence in 50+ countries.
The headline PAT looks stable YoY (+0.7%) but that number carries a ₹3,027cr exceptional tailwind from divesting the Yes Bank stake strip that out and the underlying picture is softer. Op Profit (pre-provisions) fell 13.5% YoY as rising interest costs outpaced revenue growth, which was essentially flat at 0.8% YoY. The genuine good news: Net NPA hit a decade-low of 0.39%, credit growth stayed robust, and management's confidence showed in a 1,735% dividend (₹17.35/share). RRB amalgamation also completed rural footprint rationalised. The bank is in solid shape structurally; Q4 was just an expensive quarter on the funding cost side.
