#PublicUtilityCommission of Texas approved ride-through rules for large computational loads in ERCOT, including #DataCenters and crypto-mining facilities.
The issue is not only how many new projects connect to the grid.
It is how those large loads behave during voltage and frequency disturbances.
ERCOT has experienced 28 events involving large computational load trips of at least 100 MW since the beginning of 2023.
Developers have also requested studies for more than 438 GW of large-load projects within ERCOT’s footprint.
