Ten years ago this week the @HouseofCommons voted to end the endemic abuse of the #beertie & voted for a genuine #MarketRentOnly option & a strong #PubsCode.
Instead dodging lobbying watered it down & the #Pubs Code has failed.

Where is the #PubsCode #PubsAdjudicator? The billionaires who made their fortune from Russian aluminium, an extraordinary property portfolio - racecourses, Millbank Tower, Piccadilly's Burlington Arcade... also control the fate of struggling pub tenants via The Wellington Pub co.
More sad/alarming news. Loss of a beloved village pub, triumph of a greedy & intransigent pubco, total failure of govt arbitration & total lack of govt support.

Thanks so much @darrenpjones & @CommonsBEIS. The #PubsCode isn’t working, #pub tenants are still being exploited. The current @pubscodepca only regularly engages with conflicted tenants’ groups linked to the pubcos she’s supposed to regulate. We need a new Code & new Adjudicator.
