First: Problems with @successfactors that screw over grad workers are the rule, not the exception. (For a refresher, see #PurduePay and any of the many threads where Purdue grad workers complain about payroll problems)

This isn't the first time changes with dire financial consequences for grad workers have been made exponentially harder by @LifeAtPurdue's poor communication (see: #PurduePay).

@AFTacademics @LifeAtPurdue @PGSGinfo @Purdue_SG @PurdueSis @AAUPPurdue Grad student campaigning resulted in the summer pay cuts from #PurduePay being reversed for some students (those switching between RA and TAships between January and June 2019)

@GradRights @AFTacademics @LifeAtPurdue SuccessFactors, one of the reasons we had to deal with #purduepay. Austerity hurts everyone. #boilersagainstausterity
@AFTacademics @LifeAtPurdue Another issue with automation specifically is that implementation of these software programs is often painful in other ways. One key example is the adoption of SuccessFactors in early 2019, which resulted in #PurduePay.

University admins making 6+ figures don't realize that many grad students live paycheck to paycheck. This leads to unnecessary financial hardship for us (see #PurduePay).
We need to be in the room, making the decisions.

Is it possible for Universities to give new grad students a 2-3 months advance (like a loan) of their stipend the first month, so new grad students can cover the start-up costs? Two times the rent, plane fare, internet/cable connection set up fees, etc. Does any Uni do this?
Wow, having an organizational hierarchy chart like this would have really helped us know who to contact about our unexpected summer pay cuts last year (see: #PurduePay).
@LifeAtPurdue , what happened?
Deets:
-Racism: HowManyMoreFires, @blackatpurdue
-Unsafe workplace: Heavilon Hall, pushing campus reopening
- Accountability: PRF, + the fact that Univ Senate, PSG, and PGSG can ask nicely for things
-#purduepay, spouse healthcare cuts

Bill Bell, of #PurduePay infamy, is telling us about who gets to work from home. This doesn't bode well.
I am very confused by the laughter/statement of "I hope" in relation to the concern about future pay issues related to last year's #PurduePay Some grad staff had to live off a wage with more than a 50% cut in some cases. This isn't a laughing matter @PGSGinfo #ProtectPurdue

Q) So you're not gonna do another #PurduePay and mess up our pay again?
A) That was a one-time thing, so nah. She actually laughed at this.

URGENT: We have just been informed that perhaps hundreds of grad students did not get paid this past pay cycle. Were you affected? Do you know anyone who was? Stay tuned in for more information. #purduepay

Or their university changes the frequency of pay then underpays them with little warning to “even things out” and people genuinely don’t know if they’ll be able to pay rent #purduepay
When we aren't allowed a voice in decisions that affect our stipends, we suffer

"Here’s the rub, now spilling out on #PurduePay tagged discussions on social media: The money that went out as “transition pay” during the spring semester was docked from paychecks once the summer started." https://t.co/bOBHPxfMQg
Here are some of our members speaking out about #purduepay and how it affects graduate students: https://t.co/NPGXhWYm5G
The discussion that began with #PurduePay has expanded to include serious issues with housing and healthcare access for graduate workers, and a broader lack of decision making power for those whose labor is truly the backbone of Purdue university.

Graduate students aren't over #Purduepay, and that wasn't the only problem discussed in a forum on Sunday.
