The most important part of making a Bill of Quantity is price discovery. Talking walks to local sources and grounding the bills with actual materials, advising the architect to change specs to take advantage of localism. #Qsing #Practice

I have solved one major problem potential home owners have when it comes to planning. How much does it cost to build at place X? You can now get the answer as soon as I see the question. 🙋 #QSing

#MjengoEstimates How to describe and quantify a grass thatched roof or makuti roofing: 🛖 #Qsing #Knowledge

Properly thatched grass can last more than iron sheets. Most people who call earth-based and grass houses non-permanent might live shorter lives than the "temporary houses." 🪔✍🏿🏡

Cost editing a BoQ in a price volatile environment is very difficult. In the short run prices might rise and destroy all motivation #QSing

Good people, 1. You can hate your Contract but try very much not to hate Contract Law. 2. By all@means find ways to agree with each other. The Law is very Stupid. Let me summarize one Local Case Study from 2012. 1/n #ContractLaw #MjengoLaw #DisputeResolution #QSing

Dear Contractors, learn how to make money from idle staff and idle equipment, especially at this time when most clients, including government are struggling with cashflow. All you need as a Contractor is PATIENCE! 1/

Where the roof has varying pitch, state the degrees. Steeper roof may present more work in hoisting and mounting, hence will have extra cost. Thus; ✍🏿"Thatch Roofing laid vertical or to slope exceeding 45 degrees from horizontal." Add area + Rate #Qsing #BoQs #Measurement
