في أبريل 2021، نشرت الوسيلة الإعلامية "بلاست" تحقيقاً بعنوان #QatarConnection. أكدت فيه أن أمير قطر أمر بدفع مبلغ 9.1 مليون يورو لبرنار هنري ليفي بين عامي 2009 و2011. ويشير التحقيق إلى أن هذا المبلغ كان يهدف إلى الحصول على دعمه للسياسة الخارجية لقطر، لاسيما إبان التدخل العسكري في ليبيا.
📌حكم الدرجة الأولى (سبتمبر 2021)
رفع BHL دعوى قضائية بتهمة التشهير، مطالباً بـ 100,000 يورو كتعويضات عن الأضرار، إضافة إلى حذف المقال.
📌الحكم: في 22 سبتمبر 2021، رفضت الغرفة السابعة عشرة في محكمة باريس دعوى BHL.
• الحيثيات: أقرت المحكمة بأن الصحفيين عملوا بناءً على "قاعدة واقعية كافية" وأثبتوا حسن نيتهم.

استأنف برنار هنري ليفي هذا القرار.
فأيدت محكمة الاستئناف في باريس الحكم الأول، ورفضت دعوى BHL مرة أخرى، وحكمت عليه بدفع المصاريف القضائية لصالح BLAST!
• قدر القضاة أن المستندات التي قدمتها "بلاست" (خطابات تحمل ترويسة رسمية، أوامر تحويل) قدمت ضمانات جدية كافية سمحت للصحفتيين بنشرها وفتح نقاش يتعلّق بالمصلحة العامة.
📌مع استمرار التحقيقات في قضايا التأثير القطري في أوروبا (المعروفة بـ Qatargate)، عادت قضية BHL للواجهة كجزء من نمط أوسع. في مارس 2025، ظهرت تقارير تربط بين أساليب الضغط التي كشفها تحقيق "بلاست" وبين تحقيقات دولية أخرى تشمل سياسيين ومثقفين في دول مختلفة، مما جعل قضية BHL "نموذجاً دراسياً" (Case Study) في كيفية استخدام المال السياسي للتأثير على المواقف الحربية (مثل ملف ليبيا).
