The session was organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in partnership with UN-Habitat, and representing the Center, Mr. Abdullah Jamal Alharbi, Chief Executive of the International Affairs Sector, who delivered the opening remarks and discussed the role of quality of life in strengthening regional cooperation and advancing it as a strategic and operational framework that supports policies and urban planning.

The Saudi Business Council is honored to present the "Quality of Life Program."
The Quality of Life Program (@QOL_2030 ) is the vibrant soul of Saudi Vision 2030, dedicated to transforming the Kingdom into a global destination for sports, culture, and entertainment while creating a thriving environment where citizens and residents can fulfill their potential.
Launched in 2018, the program is reshaping the daily experience of life in Saudi Arabia. It is shifting the focus from merely "living" to "thriving," by expanding options for participation in cultural, recreational, and sporting activities.
Creating Livable Cities for the Future The program’s central ambition is to place at least three Saudi cities among the top 100 most livable cities in the world by 2030. It is achieving this through massive urban improvements, including the "Green Riyadh" initiative and the development of human-centric pedestrian communities.
Key Achievements of Vitality
• The Cinema & Entertainment Boom: From zero to a booming industry, the program has overseen the launch of a world-class cinema sector and global entertainment festivals like Riyadh Season and MDLBEAST, generating thousands of jobs and billions in non-oil revenue.
• Hawi (The National Hobbies Portal): A pioneering initiative that has established over 1,800 hobby clubs, empowering citizens to pursue their passions, from photography to hiking in a supported, community-driven environment.
• Active Society: Driving a surge in physical activity, with over 58% of the adult population now engaging in regular exercise, supported by the "Sports for All" federation.
• Global Tourism: Positioning the Kingdom as a premier tourist destination, welcoming over 100 million visitorsand unveiling heritage treasures like #AlUla and #Diriyah to the world.
Its impact is measured not just in numbers, but in joy. By blending spirituality with modern living, the program is proving that Saudi Arabia is a place where history and the future dance together.
