STORY TELLING AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES
Due to parents' work schedule, stories are barely told at home, we should see this lockdown as an opportunity to familiarize children with their culture, traditions and religion, all of which shape the personality of a child.

ENGAGE CHILDREN IN BASIC HOUSEHOLD TASKS.
This period is a great leverage to bond with family. Activities such as cooking & cleaning can be done together as a family. As subtle as this may sound, it helps to renew the shared love & also aid learning.

And this could be the first step for the child to be the best in such subject/ topic #RCFEducates
This is a great time to tackle your child’s weakness in a particular subject. Ask your child the subject or topic he/she is finding difficult or uninteresting in school & draft out ways to help your child overcome, you can also reach out to a teacher for practical steps to take.
Beyond academics, this period can used to teach soft skills like coding, creative writing, public speaking etc. The essence of this is to spark creative and critical thinking, and also initiate activities that can encourage discussions and family bonding.

Learning at home is quite different from learning in school. In the latter, there's a natural zeal to learn due to the presence of other classmates. In order to avoid loss of interest in learning, learning time should be flexible and limited.

In teaching academic subjects, parents should try as much as possible to teach according to the scheme of work to be used in the next term, this is to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Contact your child’s class teacher to get the scheme of work to be used.
