Millaista asiantuntemusta tutkijoiden tukena on #tutkimusdata-asioissa? @HULib-tietoasiantuntijat Soile Manninen & @TuijaKorhonen vetävät yhteen kansainvälisen #RDM-foorumin antia #ThinkOpen-blogissa: https://t.co/uEV08F9fla @digitalcuration #RDMF21 #opendata #avointiede
A great two (half) days attending #RDMF21 'Data Stewardship in Research Institutions'- thanks to all the team @digitalcuration for such a fun, interesting and engaging event. It was lovely to meet new people and build on existing contacts.
Look at this, a #rdmf21 slide promoting @HiddenRef and it isn't mine! @helenclare is highlighting that there are quite a few initiatives trying to support skills and new roles - how do we bring them all together? And: who pays?
An excellent talk by Myriam Mertens, Open Science Coordinator, on setting up a data steward team at Ghent University and the national content in Belgium. Useful insight on how to get buy-in from University management and how their team of data stewards operates. @UGentRDM #RDMF21
Never attended one of @digitalcuration's RDMFs before, but really great to hear perspectives from different countries and participate in this 2-day event about data stewardship in research institutions! #rdmf21
Next up, we're hearing from @UGentRDM about setting up their team of data stewards. (slides at https://t.co/ah6sJnntOz) Many good discussion points this morning at #rdmf21 and not that much tweeting from me because my brain is just trying to follow all the amazing things.

Day 2 at #rdmf21 is underway! @gaparton is providing a disciplinary insight into models of #datastewardship and how things link up throughout the research lifecycle and ecosystem.
Day 2 of #rdmf21 is about to begin! Tune in at 9:30 BST / 10:30 CEST for a packed agenda of presentations and interactive breakout sessions! https://t.co/EH2KuUZI1s
#RDMF is starting soon! See you all at 13:30 BST! https://t.co/EH2KuUZI1s
Oh my gosh, a slide that probably works in every context! Who does not struggle?! Their solution? - Actually doing scrums to develop services, data stewards represent the researchers in the sprint planning and reviews! #RDMF21
Next speaker, Paul van Schayck, is talking about the collaboration between data stewards and Research Software Engineers! A topic close to my heart as work on that was my @SoftwareSaved fellowship idea and I still haven't gotten around to doing more with it... #RDMF21
Shout out to @thecarpentries - a lot of the training offered by @EdCDCS is run with help of the local carpentries team (hey there @SoftwareSaved folks :) ) and @ResearchDataUoE Plus a lot of informal sessions (fika mentioning makes me want a cinnamon bun now) #RDMF21
@EdCDCS @EdinburghUni first thing I learned is that STEM has a sibling called SHAPE (Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy) - who knew? #RDMF21
Next up is a local insight from our colleagues at @EdCDCS and the support they provide to Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences researchers at the university. Still have plenty to learn about @EdinburghUni so this should be intersting! #RDMF21
Almost 600 folks are part of the Dutch Data Stewardship Community. That's a good number already or are all of them international lurkers that don't have local communities? #RDMF21
Also love the fact that this is not "only" a research support role, it's a proper career and needs recognition (in terms of salary, career paths & an understanding that these folks are researchers) #RDMF21 Preach... can't wait to give the @HiddenRef hidden role a closer look.
@JettenMijke what we are asking people to do requires a change in culture, processes and policies, so data stewards do not only need knowledge on good data management, infrastructure, policies etc. but they also need to be comfortable pushing change. #RDMF21
Our first speaker at #RDMF21 is @JettenMijke giving an overview of data stewardship in the Netherlands. We need a lot of capacity if we want to support researchers with their data management! Slides at https://t.co/6ZqflSMYq5
