Ben Jones, better known to #GenX as "Cooter" on the #DukesofHazzard (which by the way is NOT a real Georgia county) has passed 2 wks shy of his 85th bday. Along w/being an actor Ben was a politician having served 2 terms as a Democratic member of the U.S. House. #RIPBenJones

First episode: One Armed Bandits Cooter was driving the Sherrifs patrol car which he just promptly stole. I remember I laughed at that. #RIPBenJones 🙏🕊️ thanks for the memories..

Very sad news, Ben Jones, Cooter on THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, and a former Congressman has died at the age of 84. I had the pleasure of renting a house to him here Virginia back in the late '90s. He was a good tenant and good company. He will be missed. #RIPBenJones #RIPCooter
