Wheels lifted this fanbase with his calls. Listening to this clips, made you honestly feel like you were in a courtside seat watching it in person. Miss this kind, gentle soul #RIPWheels #RipCity
The Portland Trail Blazers mourn the passing of former radio announcer Brian Wheeler, who passed away on Friday, November 8. Wheeler, better known as “Wheels” served as the radio voice of the Trail Blazers for 21 seasons from 1998-2019.
His love for the game and passion for the Trail Blazers came through in every radio call, making each play a thrill for every listener tuning in. As we mourn Wheels passing, we fondly remember his post-win declaration, “And once again we can say: It’s a great day to be a Blazer!”
Wow. So sad! I loved listening to Brian Wheeler. I used to work a night shift & was bummed I couldn’t watch games. I would listen to Brian & it felt like I was at the game! He made it so easy & exciting to listen to! It’s SAD day to be a @trailblazers #RipCity #RIPWheels 🥺
Sad news. Just got word that longtime Trail Blazers Radio voice Brian Wheeler passed away today at the age of 62. He was a phenomenal radio talent and a kind soul. 🙏
Very sad to learn of Brian Wheeler's passing. "Wheels" was a kind and gracious man. He was part of the PNW sports community for over three decades. He worked at KJR and the Sonics before moving to Portland to call Blazers games. He also loved the game of baseball. #RIPWheels
Wheels was also a big pro wrestling fan. #RIPWheels
Sorry to hear of the passing of Brian Wheeler, the radio voice of the @trailblazers for 21 years (1998-2019). Brian had been in failing health for some time. He had a booming voice and a good heart. R.I.P. Wheels.

After listening to Wheels on the radio every day, meeting him as an intern I was so excited. Even as an intern he treated me like he’d known me for years. I’ve always blamed him for perpetuating my stupid ‘Hotshot’ radio nickname. I can hear him now. What a guy. Smh #RIPWheels
In honor of Wheels, here’s so,e of his legendary work from the B. Roy takeover vs. Dallas in the 2011 playoffs. #Ripcity #RIPWHEELS https://t.co/n7BlprJ6N6
This was me and the now late #BrianWheeler 10 years ago tomorrow. I remember him calling @trailblazers games and his incredible calls. He had a way of making the games come to life.
His call on Dames .9 will always be one of my faves!

@GonzoShitCock Shit Wheels died? RIP Wheels, great caller!
His family has organized a charity to make a difference in the lives of other gamers with similar conditions by providing them with the same sort of specialized controller. Any and all donations are welcome and appreciated https://t.co/Lj4mJiVtus

Old photo, new edit. Anytime I see a throwie on a billboard I think of the homie Wheels. We were days out from doing several in OKC before he passed. Also there has gotta be a pun in here somewhere about these and "toy" story 😂 #RIPWheels 🙏
Damn, I was having a good night. The next thing I know I realize how life is fragile and short. #RIPWheels

I waited a whole 10 minutes in the Starbucks line and zero strange men tried to put their hands on my thigh! Safe escape once more. #nichetweet #degrassi #RIPWheels
Good news - Wheels is well represented in the slide shows. The Ugly Twins are wearing matching outfits and have the same dyed blonde hair. I hope this is just for this and not something they do on the regular. #DegrassiCon #RIPWheels
