Another teaser for OS enthusiasts: #RISCOSMerlin already delivers impressive SMP performance, supports per-core arena allocation to enable massive multi-core systems with up to 256 cores, and offers a truly multi-core graphics subsystem too. #kernel #kernelDevelopment #rust

A test of #RISCOSMerlin exploring the PCIe bus in full on AArch64 (works on AArch32, x86 and x86_64 too) and the part I love the most is the fact that Merlin Kernel and HAL can do safe tear down of all direct and indirect allocated resources when healing from faulty driver, yup!

One of my favorite features in #RISCOSMerlin, the kernel recovers from when legacy modules fail to initialise. Proper protected calls implementation that give Merlin an impressive level of robusteness even during the delicate phase of system startup. https://t.co/tU9MU5XArr

getting #RISCOSMerlin to be able to boot on #UEFI is being a lot of fun and a great opportunity to learn in more details UEFI on AArch64 vs my old knowledge of UEFI on Intel/AMD. The fun part if always the learning. #Rust #Kernel #SystemsDevelopment
