Within the global igaming/sportsbetting sector, the online competitions, sweepstakes and lotteries boast some of the highest revenue per user coupled with some of the lowest customer acquisition costs. These competitions are a relatively small percent of the igamiong/sportsbetting sector making for an attractive opportunity to grow revenue streams, increase margins, and cross-market additional products and services.
Golden Matrix Group (Nasdaq GMGI) that owns GM-AG Meridianbet, CFAC, MexPlay and Expanse Studios entered this "competition lottery style" market with the acquisition of RKings Competitions in 2021-22 for a savvy $12 million (50% in shares valued at $8 per share and 50% cash).
In the short time since acquiring RKings, by letting founder Mark Weir remain at the helm, he has made it UK and Northern Irelands #1 online competition platform and doubled the revenue.
Q3 2024 RKings segment brought in $8.8 mil in rev and $18.54 mil YTD.
Just recently GMGI acquired one of Australia's leading promotional contest companies and discount platforms, CFAC or Classics For A Cause for approximately 5X profits or $10 million. CFAC's current revenue is approximately $10 million/yr in revenue, $2 million/yr net - before any scaling.
Q3 2024 CFAC already added $2.1 million in revenue in only 2 months.
GMGI plans to scale CFAC similar to RKings by implementing newer technology, doubling competitions from 2 to 4 per month and cross marketing into new regions. GMGI will leave the existing founder Thomas Bailey in place to continue to execute their blueprint for growth.
Competition raffle style platforms are very valuable beyond an additional revenue stream. They play a valuable marketing role by creating a foundation that allows the ability to cross market multiple synergistic companies beyond traditional i-gaming and sportsbetting. These lottery style competitions and discount platforms also:
