Last night #ROHTannhauser Superb direction from Alexander Soddy. Gerald Finlay was the stand-out for me. #Wolfram
@RoyalOperaHouse for my #3 #ROHTannhauser my heart bleeds for not being able to feel the heroic tenor #StefanVinke whose voice again failed but @LiseDavidsen & @GeraldFinley entangled with sublime complexities the prismatic nature of love - will be back for the final night!
@AndrewOpera It was a wonderful experience. Wagner, for all his faults, composed such beautiful music with such feeling. I don't exaggerate that I was nearly tearful at the end #ROHTannhauser
Wagner’s Tannhäuser. Stefan Vinke, Lise Davidsen, Gerald Finley, Ekaterina Gubanova, Mika Kares, conducted by Sebastian Weigle. @GeraldFinley #ROHTannhauser
Privilege to see @LiseDavidsen sing in #ROHtannhauser 8 years after hearing her sing the same aria when winning Operalia. What a superlative artist.
Vinke clearly a lot better than the general in the title role - broadly had his mojo for the Rome narration. Albery's production, simple and stylish, wears pretty well #ROHTannhauser
As others have commented, outstanding performances from @LiseDavidsen @GeraldFinley and, for me, Mike Kares - absolutely world class #ROHTannhauser
In the end, a rather fine Tannhäuser with some real highlights, not least the mighty chorus and Queen Elisabeth herself #ROHtannhauser @ROHchorus
Have arrived at the Venusberg for an afternoon's excitement #ROHTannhauser
Lise, Gerald & the chorus saved the day. #rohtannhauser @RoyalOperaHouse . But when your Tenor is clearly indisposed. It can dull the evenings enjoyment a bit
Really like this production & Gerald finney sounding amazing. But Vinke is sounding very strained. Don't think he will make it till the end. #rohtannhauser
Kudos to Norbert Ernst, who sang the hugely demanding role of Tannhäuser (very well) from the side of the stage, and at short notice. And I have to say that Stefan Vinke gave us a committed, convincingly acted Tannhäuser, and was an excellent lipsyncer ! #rohtannhauser
QUITE the musical week in prospect. #ENOCarmen dress rehearsal. #ROHTannhauser. Damnation of Faust @LPOrchestra and Peter Grimes @KensingtonSO… This week I did almost nothing in the evenings and ended up exhausted, so 😬🤣😍
Wagner’s Tannhäuser. Dress rehearsal. Stefan Vinke, Lise Davidsen, Gerald Finley, Ekaterina Gubanova, Mika Kares, conducted by Sebastian Weigle. @GeraldFinley #ROHTannhauser

Catch the fantastic #rohtannhauser for 30 days. #PeterSeiffert gives a majestic performance as the tortured Knight. https://t.co/dndrKv8zeF
Brookes music lecturer @BarbaraEichner is doing the interval talks on tonight's @BBCRadio3 broadcast of "Tannhäuser". #rohtannhauser
