Curtain call photos from last night's #ROHTosca. Pleased I was able to see @natalyaromaniw's first ROH role, 9 years after first seeing her at OHP. (It's taken you a while, ROH!) My first time hearing @FredDeTommaso & his voice was impressive. I loved @erwinschrott as Scarpia.
Relieved to have made it from York to London for tonight's #ROHTosca. Now I just have to hope I can make it back to Cambridge afterwards. Yes, I know the ROH isn't precisely en route from York to Cambridge but I booked Tosca months before the short break in York was mooted!
I've seen this production of Tosca so many times & I never get tired of it - excellent drama & designs. Last night's cast @natalyaromaniw, @FredDeTommaso & @erwinschrott were very fine indeed. A great night of fear, passion, death & betrayal #ROHTosca
@nfmusic @TheRoyalOpera @FredDeTommaso @natalyaromaniw Wonderful. Natalya is the first Tosca I’ve heard who didn’t push/strain the voice to reach the highest notes. And what lovely subtle phrasing when the score demanded ( eg “la parola che consola”) Freddie too, impressed - a much bigger, richer voice than I’d expected #ROHTosca
