IMD recently issued Supply order for 32 new #DopplerRadars to Data Patterns India Ltd. !
These include -
a) 14 C Band #DWRs as follows :

• Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan

• Jagdalpur, Chattisgarh
• Kakinada, AP
• Kollam, Keralam
• Prayagraj, UP
b) 18 X Band DWRs as follows :
•Ahmedabad, Gujarat
•Surat, Gujarat
•Heesarghatta, Karnataka
•Anantnag, J&K
•Rajouri, J&K
•Auli, Uttarakhand
•Haridwar, Uttarakhand
•Padum, Ladakh
•Drass, Ladakh
•Kargil, Ladakh
•Bareilly, UP
•Bhopal, MP

While many of these are still in Tendering stage & can be expected only late 2026 into 2027, they include major additions of all 3 types.
Highlights include -
5 for #UttarPradesh : 2 C-Band, 3 X-Band
4 for #Gujarat : 2 S-Band, 2 X-Band
4 for #MadhyaPradesh : 3 C-Band, 1 X-Band
4 C-Band for #Rajasthan
2 C-Band each for #Maharashtra and #Chattisgarh + 1 S-Band for Maharashtra

IMD's #Mangaluru C-Band Radar is finally open for public access, little more than a month after inauguration!
Covers an essential gap in Bharat's west coast DWR network - covering entire coastal #Karnataka, north #Kerala, large parts of interior KN, some parts of NE Lakshadweep and adjoining Arabian Sea.
Meanwhile, 5 New Radars have been announced recently -
2 new X-Band Radars at #Nagpur and #Tripura's Belonia.
3 new Radars (possibly X Band) in #TamilNadu at Kanyakumari, Tiruchirappalli and Coimbatore
