Zimbabwe's Ministry of Education created brilliant #radiolessons for schools as part of its strategy to help children catch up after #COVID19 - I tuned into the maths lessons! Great to be at today's handover of 1,500 🇬🇧 funded solar radios so lessons can reach remote learners.

1/1 In 2021 @UNICEFZimbabwe procured & distributed 3,000 solar radios 📻 to targeted disadvantaged primary schs & community learning circles across the country & schools in Tongogara camp to support the radio lessons prog currently helping learners catch-up after schs🏫reopened.

Was planning to resume my recordings of #RadioLessons only to realize my cleaning woman had broken my ring lights. The annoying part? I don’t even know when she did, because she kept it back there, broken and said nothing. Called her now and she was stuttering. I’m very sore.

#RadioLessons As a radio broadcaster, I’m almost certain you don’t like listening back to your voice, but please try. Play back your broadcast; maybe your news, sports programme etc. Ask yourself: - Would you listen to you? - What can you improve on? Watch more here 🥰

#RadioLessons I always encourage young broadcasters to watch or read past interviews of their proposed guest(s). Doing so helps you see how they respond to questions, which in turn aids you in structuring your questions properly. More here 👇🏽

#RadioLessons Asides reading up on your guest, please go watch/read their old interviews. Does your guest even like being interviewed, does she enjoy talking, how intelligent is he, is he a one liner response type of person? Etc 1/

#RadioLessons A news story is a story and as a newscaster, you must be able to tell us that story. Your listener cannot see your face while you’re reading the news, so it’s on you to make him ‘see’ that story. Do watch here 🥰🥰

#RadioLessons Some of us often think we’re great at ‘freestyling’ our links because “hey, the listener won’t notice.” LOL! If you’re not very articulate, please refrain from doing this otherwise, you will stumble badly. Do watch and share 🥰🥰

#RadioLessons Decades ago, probably the first requirement to getting on radio was you having a great voice. Boy, those veteran broadcasters had beautiful voices! We remember a lot of them mostly because of their great voices, diction, how they read the news, 1/

#RadioLessons It was my regular afternoon shift back then at SplashFM and I thought to play a song off Plantashun Boiz’ Plan B album. Unfortunately, the intro to the song was the Nigerian national anthem (I mean the proper anthem not one that was belted by a singer 🤣).
