List of Violent Attacks on Hindus by Muslims During Holi 2026 1. Uttam Nagar, West Delhi (March 4) A 26-year-old Hindu man, Tarun Kumar, was beaten to death by a mob of 15-20 Muslims after a water balloon accidentally hit a burqa-clad Muslim woman during Holi celebrations. The dispute escalated when the mob arrived armed with sticks, rods and stones, locking the Hindu family inside their home and assaulting family members. Tarun suffered fatal head and chest injuries. 4 adults and 1 minor from the Muslim community were arrested; the victim's family demanded a CBI probe amid protests and arson in the area. 2. Mau Rasulpur Village, Shahjahanpur District, Uttar Pradesh (March 4-5) A minor argument erupted when a Hindu youth threw Holi colors on a Muslim man. The next day, a mob of around 100 Muslim villagers, including Zayed Ali and Shaheen Ali, gathered after a nighttime meeting and stone-pelted Hindu homes, injuring 6 Hindus in retaliatory clashes involving lathis. 3. Titroda Village, Baghpat District, Uttar Pradesh, (March 4) Hindu youth Amrit Sharma was murdered by a group of Muslim men, including Suhail, Anas, Shaukeen and Chinku, over a minor dispute at a chicken shop during Holi festivities. The attackers stabbed and assaulted him fatally. Police arrested the named perpetrators; the case is under investigation as a communal murder. 4. Unnamed Village, Mirzapur District, Uttar Pradesh (March 3-4) Vishwa Hindu Parishad member Anil Kumar Gupta and his elderly mother were beaten by a group of Muslim men while cleaning a temple in preparation for Holi. The assault stemmed from objections to the temple cleanup during the festival. Both victims sustained injuries; a case was registered, but no arrests were immediately reported. 5. Alod Village, Bundi District, Rajasthan (March 4) During a Holi procession, Hindus accidentally spilled some paint on a mosque wall, prompting local Muslims to attack the procession participants. The violence involved stone-pelting and physical assaults on Hindus. Police from multiple stations intervened, deploying forces to contain the situation. 6. Harrow Area, London, United Kingdom (March 3-4) Islamic extremists from a nearby mosque disrupted a Holika Dahan (Holi eve bonfire) event organised by the International Siddhashram Shakti Kendra. They destroyed the sound system, issued threats and returned with 20 people to physically attack Hindu worshippers. UK police arrived after an hour and launched an investigation; no arrests. 7. Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh (March 7). A group of Hindu youths were playing Holi, dancing and singing to the tunes of a DJ in Bachchrawan town. The local Muslims threw stones and bricks from rooftops, triggering panic in the area. As tensions escalated, several Muslims came down to the street and attacked Hindus with knives and sharp-edged weapons. 11 people sustained injuries and were rushed to the community health centre.
