This absolutely stood out to me from #Mark16 today. The epitome of guilt and shame is welcomed by the resurrected Lord because of the very act that Peter scorned.

Jesus doesn't want Peter, the disciple who denied and abandoned Him, to be left out of His mission. God shows us this same grace, using and including us even when we have messed up.

Loving that women were the first eye witnesses to the Resurrection. Despite women's testimony being seen as "unreliable" God chose to do his great reveal to women. Why is Jesus so counter cultural in his attitudes towards women? @caitlinmoran any thoughts? @UncoverJesus #Readmark

These women had heard Jesus teach that he would die & rise again. But they had seen him die! How could he be alive?! Remember who he is.. the Son of God!

I love the way #Mark16 starts. With the same women who saw where Jesus was buried seeing the tomb empty. And I love the way it ends with the biggest unsaid question ever: "where the heck is Jesus?" #hehasrisen #ReadMark
Very moving reading #Mark15 as part of #ReadMark having also read @holland_tom's description of crucifixion in the prologue to Dominion today.
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,

In chapter 14 of Mark's Gospel, Peter denies that he even knows Jesus. Students at @Cambridge_CU were reminded that their confidence shouldn’t be in the strength of their commitment to Christ, but in Christ Himself.

#ReadMark ch12. Is there something here about the ‘everything’ of God? The tenant owner’s son gives up everything, God owns everything (all things bare the image of God), love God with everything, give everything to God.

The parable of the tenants is not just a stark picture of judgement toward those who reject the son, it's also a stunning picture of grace toward those who later inherit the vineyard through the death of the son.
