We have officially wrapped up our #REALFathers project inception meetings in the new intervention districts! Our final stop was Lwengo District, where local leaders embraced the project and committed their full support to ensuring its success during implementation.
Somero Uganda, together with officials from @LyantondeLocal , held a successful inception meeting for the #REALFathers project.This initiative will mentor young fathers aged 18-25,equipping them to become responsible, engaged& loving dads strengthening families and communities.

Today, we officially kicked off the #RealFathers project in Rakai District📍
District stakeholders welcomed the project's unique vision and pledged total support for the rollout. The day ended on a high note with the signing of MOUs!
💡 What happens when learning doesn’t stop at one conversation?
Under the #REALFathers approach, mentorship goes beyond individual sessions. After one-on-one engagements, young fathers and their mentors gather again at parish level for group mentorship spaces 💬👨👧👦🌱
Here, no one is left behind. If a young father didn’t fully grasp a concept during his individual session, the group setting provides another opportunity to unpack it asking questions openly, sharing experiences and learning from fellow fathers 🤝📖✨
Facilitated by the Lead Mentor, these sessions deepen understanding of the session held during an individual session, strengthen motivation towards being better fathers and build brotherhood among men committed to becoming better fathers 💛

Mentors under the #REALFathers Project have completed their training and are gearing up to resume home visits with young fathers next week.
Ahead of these sessions, mentors were guided through Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) forms by the District Project Officers, IIDC’s MEL Technical Advisor and Master Trainers distributed in the different districts. These tools will help mentors capture progress, track challenges and document the impact of their work with young fathers.
With these insights, mentors are ready to provide practical guidance, support and accountability, turning training into meaningful action at household and community levels.
This phase of the project emphasizes real change - empowered fathers, stronger families and communities that thrive as men embrace responsibility.
WACSOF remains committed to supporting this journey, ensuring every mentorship session contributes to lasting, positive outcomes.

As an expression of our dedication to fostering positive parenting and mitigating intimate partner violence (IPV) through the REAL Fathers Project, @WACSOF has initiated a new series of mentor training sessions.
These sessions began on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 and will take place across the subcounties of Bushenyi, Buhweju, Sheema, Mitooma, Ntungamo and Rwampara districts.
Through this program, men receive mentorship focused on responsible fatherhood, positive disciplinary practices and enhancing interpersonal relationships, with particular attention given to Early Childhood Development (ECD).
Collectively, we are preparing fathers to cultivate safer home environments and to contribute to brighter futures for their children.
