Today, H.E. Alamine Ousmane Mey, #MINEPAT🇨🇲 and H.E. MINAMI Kentaro, @AmbJaponCMR🇯🇵, together with @Ciowela, @PNUDCameroun RR, signed a partnership launching Phase III of Japan’s support to the #RecoveryProgramme in the South-West Region, under the #PPRD_NW_SW.
This new phase, valued at USD 2,657,128, will accelerate the restoration of essential services in #Health, #WASH and #Education, directly supporting 682,000 people and reaching millions in communities across the Region.

As part of his working visit to the NW Region, @mharthansen, #UNDP🇨🇲 DRR visited key #RecoveryProgramme education projects in the region, assessing effective use of completed schools and progress of those under rehabilitation.
He toured & engaged with students at the completed Sacred Heart Nursery & Primary School Mankon, and inspected ongoing works at the Islamic Primary School Old Town, the Sacred College lab and the St. Paul College Nkwen Science Lab.

UNDP 🇨🇲 #RecoveryProgramme, through #PPRD-NW/SW & in partnership with Nkambe Council, organized a socio-cultural event to promote peace & social cohesion.
Held at the UNDP #RecoveryProgramne reconstructed Nkambe Multipurpose Centre for women and youths, the event brought together over 500 participants, including youths, women, PWDs & traditional rulers.
They showcased talents in music, dance, poetry, exhibitions & more, with prizes awarded.
The UNDP 🇨🇲 #RecoveryProgramme, through #PPRD-NW/SW and with support from @IsDB_Group has rebuilt GHS Idenau, #SWRegion, damaged as a result of the ongoing crisis in the #NW/SWRegions. Today, the school enjoys:
✅ Reconstructed & equipped classrooms
✅ Renovated administrative block
✅ Water supply to improve hygiene & sanitation.
📻 This #WorldRadioDay, @PNUDCameroun celebrates the power of radio in fostering peace, resilience & development.
Sadly, in the NW & SWRegions of 🇨🇲, many have been affected by the ongoing crisis.
Through the PPRD-NW/SW, the UNDP #RecoveryProgramme has supported over 8 community radio stations, restoring access to information and amplifying community voices.
The President of the #PPRD-NW/SW Steering Committee, @paultasong has commended the partnership between the Gov't of 🇨🇲, @IsDB_Group, and the UNDP 🇨🇲#RecoveryProgramme in implementing the IsDB Support to the PPRD project.

Thanks to UNDP 🇨🇲#RecoveryProgramme under the #PPRD-NW/SW, the Fako Empowerment Platform, FEP, in the #SWRegion, was reconstructed & equipped to empower women & youths.
Over 100 of them have so far been trained and provided with life-changing skills for sustainable growth.
The UNDP 🇨🇲 #RecoveryProgramme through the #PPRD-NW/SW and with funding from @isdb_group is fostering social cohesion through sociocultural interventions in the #NWRegion, laying the groundwork for future livelihoods & infrastructure interventions.
Over 17 councils in the region are currently involved in diverse socio-cultural activities.
At the #Bamenda Sunrise Arts & Cultural Festival, SACFEST 2024, the #UNDP 🇨🇲 #RecoveryProgramme proudly handed awards to outstanding arts and cultural talents and projects in various categories.
One of the most outstanding was the best dance group for persons with disabilities.
Education is the cornerstone of UNDP's #RecoveryProgramme in the NW/SWRegions 🇨🇲.
Through #PPRD-NW/SW, we have rehabilitated over 79 schools to ensure children have access to quality education.
However, over 200 schools remain unrehabilitated. With more funds, we can do more.
