Burnout really does creep up. I realised I hadn't taken a proper break since November in April. And when you're self employed, even weekends are work days. Had to give myself leave ๐ made all the difference #RedNoteBookChat

It is easy to burn out. My tip: make some rules for yourself. If you work from home - take leave. Shut down the computer and get some rest. A few days off social media/ emails would do you some good. 1/2 #RedNotebookChat
Siis! I work from home and that sort of makes it harder. Work-life balance meant you left work to go home. How do you leave home, to go home? With curfew?
I take my weekends very seriously. I do not read emails on the weekend (if i can help it). 1/2 #RedNotebookChat

My mom. Gosh, that woman did it all. She was a bus conductor, baker, school director, events planner, poultry farmer, Restaurateur, campaign manager & an ever-present mom. She kicked [butts] and got things done. It is no surprise that I turned out this way. 1/2 #RedNotebookChat
1. Start small. Test-the-bleach-on-a-small-fabric mentality.
2. Learn to teach, delegate and trust your employee/s.
3. Don't forget why/how you started. So, keep tabs on the business. Get reports. Ask questions.
4. Correct errors in real time.

I considered this on some days. Then life happened and I had to take on full time entrepreneurship and consultancy work. The transition was made easy because I had no choice. Adapt or starve. 1/3 #RedNotebookChat

I feel like all entrepreneurs need to listen to this. When the money starts flowing, it can be easy (and dangerous) to celebrate too soon. Focus on the big picture. What does success look like two to five years down the line?

Donโt let small small profits confuse your financial temperature. Can your side hustle pay you your current salary and benefits for 12months? If not, stay and work. Pace yourself. Make mistake and learn early on.

Look at what the partner brings to the table (not their dancing skills - in my case). Often, we seek out people of similar character, but we need an accountability partner. Are you able to call each other out without losing your friendship? 2/2 #RedNotebookChat
