Remember all those channel blackouts you experienced this year? It was all a tactic to help #BigBroadcast Nexstar raise their retransmission fees “...82.6% year-over-year to $538.4 million” according to their Q3 reports. And they’re gearing up for more next year:

The retrans rules are in need of a long overdue overhaul. Under current @FCC rules, negotiating power is in the hands of the broadcasters. They hold the cards, they force rate increases, cable passes along the increases, consumers lose big time. #reformretrans

Two years ago today, our local #NBC station #WYFF4 in #GreenvilleSC was blackout temporary on #DIRECTV due to outdated-#retrans nonsense from 1992. It was restored days later. #ReformRetrans #RightNow!

In 2017 both TV Blackouts and #Retrans fees reached their highest levels EVER! Broadcasters are determined to stick it to consumers to pad their bottom lines. Congress and FCC must act to protect consumers. #ReformRetrans #EndTVBlackouts
