A fantastic day in #RegionG as the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Operations held a recognition ceremony to honour our dedicated officers for their exceptional service!
In attendance were Director Mokasi, Chief Superintendents Sebola and Chuene, as well as Superintendents, Inspectors, and Sergeants from the Region.
We celebrate the great work accomplished by these officers, including:

#JMPD #RegionG operations officers were approached by two females who reported that their vehicle had been stolen in Ennerdale & that they had seen it entering 5 To 5 informal settlement in LenasiaSouth. The officers immediately conducted a search & successfully recovered the vehicle abandoned.

#JMPD #RegionG operations officers received a lookout for a Toyota Corolla that had allegedly opened fire on SAPS members during vehicle checks. The vehicle was traced & stopped along Lawley Drive in Lawley. Upon inspection, the officers observed a bullet hole on the windscreen & questioned the driver. While being questioned, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended. The vehicle matched the description provided by SAPS officers, who confirmed they had also fired at the vehicle during the earlier incident.
A search of the vehicle & the suspect led to the recovery of an empty firearm magazine & 1x live ammunition. The suspect was arrested & detained at Lenasia SAPS.
