Currently CPPA buys and sells electricity worth 1550 Billion annually to government owned DISCOs : - out of which ~650 billion are capacity payments which are paid by consumers for the electricity they never used - ~ 200 billion of unaccounted for line losses & theft 1/2

Pakistan generated electricity of Rs 1500 Billion in FY 2017-18. Rs 664 Billion were capacity payments. Free electricity market, privatisation of DISCOs & regional power pool, t 664 Billion can be reduced. It can reduce electricity price by 35%. #Privatisation #RegionalPowerPool
