#BSE : The News Impact! SEBI Chairman today indicated that the regulator is considering extending the tenure of equity derivatives expiry and will soon release a consultation paper. However, he later clarified that no formal work has been initiated yet and that this is still under discussion. Despite this, market speculation quickly escalated, with many interpreting it as a possible end to weekly expiry contracts in the near future. While this may or may not materialize, the news triggered sharp reactions, with BSE stock dropping over 5% within an hour. Some experts cautioned that such a move could potentially reduce trading volumes on exchanges by 40–50%. Technical Analysis: The stock price dropped sharply from the top of the range at 2550 to the lower boundary near 2350. This 200-point range has been active for the past five weeks, keeping the stock in a sideways trajectory. Unless a breakout occurs, the stock may continue consolidating in this band. A bullish breakout above 2550 could open the path towards 2740, while a breakdown below 2350 may push the price to close the opening gap left unfilled in May near 2190.
