Dover Park Run cancelled, port access disrupted, the lives of residents made more difficult. I am fed up with idiots coming to Dover to cause disruption. I bet if you asked any one of those “protesters” they wouldn’t know small boat crossing are down by 40%. Go home, enjoy your weekend/get a job. I’m in contact with the police.

Nolan Wells should be 19 today. He should be blowing out candles, laughing with his family, making plans and stepping into another year of a life that was still unfolding. Instead, his family is celebrating his memory while continuing to fight for answers about what happened to their son. His mother, Christine Wonsley, shared in her own birthday tribute: “Although you are no longer physically here with us, we will always celebrate you and the legacy you have left for us to protect. You have taught us so much about life and how everyday is a blessing and how we have to do better at just living in the moment.” So, today we celebrate Nolan. But celebration cannot replace justice. Black boys deserve to grow old. Families deserve answers. And Nolan deserves the truth. Happy heavenly 19th birthday, Nolan Xavier Wells.

"I wanted to be buried next to my sister and comrade, Lillian Ngoyi."- Helen Joseph 🕊️ One of the most moving moments from our Women of Fortitude commemoration was Dipuo Headbush-Mde's reflection on Helen Joseph's documented wish to be buried alongside her friend, fellow activist and comrade, Lillian Ngoyi. Her powerful reminder that these two remarkable women embodied non-racialism in life and in death speaks to the values they fought for and the nation they hoped to build. We promised to share the full commemoration, and we're keeping that promise. If you were unable to attend, or would like to revisit the day's reflections, tributes and conversations, you can now watch the full programme here👉🏼https://t.co/AjEcQUmnN8 Stay with us until the end of the programme to see the growing Roll Call of Honour and some of the names already recovered through the Who Were the 20 000 Women? campaign. Every name brings us one step closer to restoring the full story of the women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956. Do you know a woman who took part in the march? Help us Write Her Into History by sharing her name with us at [email protected]. Because protecting their legacy begins with remembering their names. #70YearsOn #WriteHerIntoHistory #WhoWereThe20000Women
