I've spent the last hour responding to emails from students worried about missing class due to #COVID.
They could've still received instruction & collaborated w classmates if we had #RemoteJanuary.
But forcing chaotic in-person during a surge was more important, apparently.
Besides the fact that #SchoolsAreNOTsafe, learning is greatly disrupted because of staffing shortages and students missing class due to illness or parents keeping them home bc of #Omicron spread.
How is this better than the safety & stability of a temporary #RemoteJanuary?
22 staff members out in my building, 7 students in my classroom, 10 in another, 12 in another and the list goes onโฆ
