It’s only happened 5 times in the last century.
1920s under Harding and Coolidge.
1955-57 under Eisenhower
2003-07 under Bush after 9/11
2017-19 under Trump 1.0
2025 - present under Trump 2.0
These windows are precious and too easily squandered (just look at how the neocons destroyed the Bush years).
We must make this one count.
Replace Thune, cancel August recess, and pass the SAVE America Act.
Thune said he didn't see how having Congress sitting around there for the month of August is a good use of anybody's time.
