@drlorileeoates The problem with the @TimHoustonNS #retentionbonuses is the @nsgov did it right in the middle of bargaining with the nurses unions. It was done partly to undermine the unions' wage demands. Like a signing bonus, they're a one-shot deal and do nothing to improve wage rates.

@TimHoustonNS just handed out over $460M in #RetentionBonuses for nurses and other healthcare workers. Schools literally cannot function without support staff, who are currently making #PovertyWages. Most of them are women. #WomensWages #Shecession
