My PCE came to me yellowed and mucky and have got round to sorting it. But did the controller at the weekend. Saturday's sun was perfect for some bleachy action and it came out really nice. Console next but thats real faff to take apart. #pcengine #nec #retrobright
3/4 day in the #retrobright vaporbox. Did it do anything? You tell me. 1st photo is after, 2nd photo before.
The Quadra 800 restoration is now complete. Floppy and CD Drive work fine. The hard drive uses #BlueSCSI. It took 3 days to #RetrObright the shell case, but the plastic did not turn as white as the paint on the outer steel of the case. But yea, Overall I am satisfied.

Just have a big enough transparent organizer box, about 2 cm of hidrogen peroxide + water on the bottom, and somehow elevate the subject without touching the liquid. Some days of sunlight, and voilá! #AmigaReposts #CommodoreAmiga

Put the #pcengine Duo-R controller back into the #retrobright vaporbox for about 20 hours, this time with the UVC led strip on. I did not refresh the hydrogen peroxide. It came out better, but not as good as the other one. The other one was in for 2 days though .

Another #retrobright vaporbox test. I had another discoloured #pcengine Duo-R controller lying around. I put it in the box with heating on, without UV leds on but instead with a piece of potato in the hydrogen peroxide. As you can see, it did not do the job (as well).

#pcengine Duo-R shell, controller and super cdrom2, 2 days in the vacuum bag #retrobright vaporbox. Great job on the controller, worked on the shell (which was not very yellow. i photo, the hicard lid was not in the vaporbox). Ned natural light to see if it worked on cdrom2.

Extra 12V UV led strip installed with the lower wavelength that should make the hydrogen peroxide break up faster. Heater and thermostat to keep the temp inside around 40C.

Parts arrived to upgrade the #retrobright vapor box. A thermostat and a heater with fan. Set the thermostat to heat until 45C. Hopefully this will make the vapor method a bit more effective.

#Retrobright vapor test 3. Any improvement? All parts were in the box together for about 10 hours, together with 6 heat pouches that each goes to about 50 degrees celcius for about 30-45 minutes. The heat pouches went in from the start.

The #retrobright vapor adventure comtinues. First photo was the result of overnight vaping with proper hydrogen peroxide, no heat. Not much difference, friends said it was. 2nd photo I added some reusable heat pouches, still yellow. But under white light...
