Honest cops defund themselves, admitting they didn’t sign up to criminalize poverty. The bad ones continue to reduce POC & immigrants as either inherently violent or in need of saving. Good ones choose #RightsOverRaids and community investments over funding more police.

Yes, the NYPD (specifically VICE) creates violent situations where sex workers are raped, robbed, and bullied by the police. Outcome? They get more funding for overtime & surveillance while schools & hospitals are cut #RightsOverRaids #JusticeforYangSong #AbolishVICENow!

When we talk about police brutality, let’s not forget that police have a lengthy record of sexual misconduct—including sexually harassing, assaulting, and extorting sex workers. Because sex work is criminalized, survivors fear arrest or retribution if they report the abuse.
