But the hero was @MaestroDCR whose conducting was pretty much flawless - never volume for its own sake (plenty of it when needed though), terrific balance and ensemble, orchestra playing like a dream. Excellent chorus too @SFOpera #RingSF
I enjoyed the @FZambello production much more this time - it's comparatively light on concept but the detailed direction and imaginative character development are superb. Looks better too - I think underfloor lighting and some of the projections are new #RingSF
Excellent Norns. Very smart to double Erda and Waltraute especially when they are Ronnita Miller and @jbartonmezzo - supremely musical and golden-voiced mezzos both - and a striking performance from Sarah Cambidge as 3rd Norn #RingSF
Alongside Theorin, @danielbrenna10r was the most youthful looking and sounding Siegfried I've seen, convincingly naive, and taking us on a real emotional journey across the opera. I'd be delighted to hear him in this repertoire again #RingSF
I have to single out Iréne Theorin as Brünnhilde - tireless, bright, a huge dynamic range and the most frighteningly furious in Act 2 - a star performance borne of hearing experience and one of the best sung I've heard #RingSF
Some more thoughts on yesterday's #Götterdämmerung which for me was notable above all for consistently strong casting across all the roles in all the parts #RingSF

Maestro Runnicles rightly bringing the whole orchestra and cast onstage with his wonderful #RingSF cast - one of the most consistently fine I gave heard and some of the grandest, best conducting too...
