We attended the annual #Cumbria #Biodiversity Data Centre Recorders Conference @CumbriaBDC as our project aims to create a more resilient River Kent so that future biodiversity data recorders will once again record #FreshwaterPearlMussels across the #RiverKent catchment 💙
The @EnvAgency fisheries officers have been out #redd counting in various locations, including the #RiverKent #Cumbria🐟 Surveys involve walking stretches of the #river and counting any spawning redds found. Sadly, only very low numbers have been found in the surveys so far 💙
