A very special thank you is reserved for our @rotundaknitters . Every week donations of beautiful blankets, hats, cardigans & octopuses flow in from around the country. These volunteers give their time & energy to making sure the babies in our NICU are warm and safe. #Rotunda2019
Our own staff also gave back this year, raising funds and contributing to @outhouse_dublin, @HomelessPeriodD, SVP, and more during the year. #Rotunda2019
#Rotunda2019 was the year of our first Charity Lunch, hosted by The Rotunda Foundation. We were so lucky to have Mairead, Rosie and Orla join us for a gorgeous dinner from our Catering Department and help raise money for The Rotunda Foundation!
One group we would especially like to thank this year is @LocaliseYouth group from St Laurence O'Toole school who during the summer raised money for a new Billimeter for the CMT. It's been inspiring to connect with these young people from our local community! #Rotunda2019
Through the Rotunda Foundation, many generous people gave their time, effort and money to fundraise for vital equipment and services in The Rotunda - from blanket warmers, to chairs for the NICU, to donations to our Bereavement services and more. We are so grateful. #Rotunda2019
Fundraising was on everyone's mind this year - not least of all our amazing Rotunda Skydivers, who jumped out of a plane and raised almost €8000 for The Rotunda Foundation! Thanks to Catherine Halloran for the heart pounding footage! #Rotunda2019
And, we would be remiss not to mention the incredible outpouring of support for our NICU team and the families that pass through there. We were overwhelmed with the generosity shown when we asked for help to raise money for a new echocardiography machine. #Rotunda2019
We held our annual #WorldPrematurityDay party in November. Always a raucous occasion where our staff get to meet the now thriving two-year-olds that they cared for in the NICU. It's one of the most fun (and loud) days of the year! #Rotunda2019
In NICU, we launched a number of new initiatives, including an End of Treatment Bell that our grads ring to symbolise the next step in their lives & a Family Integrated Care programme that aims to make parents the most important people in the care of their babies. #Rotunda2019
#Rotunda2019 was a big year for the NICU as well. We opened our new refurbished NICU, which, although we couldn't increase the capacity, hopefully makes it a little more comfortable for the families that spend anxious hours, days and weeks in there caring for their newborns.

The #RotundaResearch Department were very busy this year, launching outreach initiatives, like Debunking the Myths, a series of workshops about women's health for TY students, & the @Realmumspodcast and Breakfast Club comic about diabetes in pregnancy. #Rotunda2019
We also tried something new with our internal communications in #Rotunda2019 - Our Town Hall meetings were an opportunity for Depts to talk to each other, and ask questions directly to the Executive Management Team. They were a big success & we will be continuing them in 2020!
#Rotunda2019 was full of events - the biggest of which was our second Maternity Open Day - where our team of experts were on hand to answer any questions about fertility, pregnancy and birth!
This year we also embarked on a major capital works programme, with our new Three Storey Extension. This extension will provide much needed space to our Emergency & Assessment Unit, our Theatre, & our Delivery Suite in 2020. #Rotunda2019
In other survey news, women who gave birth during October in The Rotunda and around the country will be asked to share their experience in the first Maternity @careexperience Survey. Forms will be sent in Feb so we’re anxiously waiting to hear what people think. #Rotunda2019
Our Annual Patient Experience Survey this year showed us that over 98% of patients surveyed had confidence in the staff providing their care & a special shoutout to our Household department, as over 99% of patient rated the cleanliness of our facilities Very Good. #Rotunda2019
This year we welcomed @scratch_films back inside for the second season of #TheRotunda – and we think it was even better than the first. It was so important to be able to share the stories from every family on the show, from the joyous to the heartbreaking. #Rotunda2019
