It has been a good month with many great meetings with new stakeholders for @RwandaBuild. The future of the #RWBuild Tech Hub and projects like @Guhemba, https://t.co/SePeKRmBs2, https://t.co/LWS7ujSqrq, @HelloKigali, and our soon-to-be-announced Candidate project, are exciting. I wanted to share more with our growing community.
One of my favorite ongoing meetings has been with @ThibautMntwari on Startups in Rwanda. His passion for getting more funding into #Kigali is contagious. I'm on the panel for his next 'Kigali Startup Talk' this Thursday, May 18, at Rooftop Ikawa Cafe; as we discuss the event, we started another topic on the difference between founders and why some have grit and find a way to succeed - and, why others fail or burn out trying to find funding.

🚀 #Startup #Founder success isn't just about the end goal. It's about the journey there - and 'the PROCESS.' Every great business has a great process. Likewise, every great business leader builds excellent processes.
Founders and business leaders use methods, have strategies, and use them to build great processes and protocols. However, they must also include the critical ingredient of enjoying their process and results. They should to enjoy the ride.
Starting a business is a wild ride - there are highs & lows. Founders need to learn how to embrace them. Passion for the process makes a world of difference. It turns challenges into opportunities as the process becomes an enjoyable ride of success.
Repetition is part of the founder s journey. The trick is to repeat your vision with such infectious enthusiasm that your team can't help but catch your energy. Everyone loves wins, and creating a process that leads to repeatable victories is your job.
This skill isn't natural. It's crafted. Steve Jobs was known for his 'reality distortion' that led Apple to change the world. Likewise, founders can develop their own 'reality distortion field'. Their passion and focus on the journey and the end goals can shape your startup's reality.
Start with a clear vision. Believe in it deeply and sincerely. Then, communicate with a passion that your team becomes as excited about the journey as they are about the destination.
Success as a startup founder will be from your processes - enjoying the process, repeating your vision enthusiastically, and keeping a focus on the end goals are how you will succeed. Embrace the journey and make sure the process is loved!
