Armed with a now completed track, in what only could be considered “in normal fashion” in @prnlegacy world, arrived at @leparksuite in the middle of the night, summoned her to come to the car and listen to what we know as #SAIMH & said “This is for you”

Maybe because it was #ChristmasTime @prince was in a giving mood as that same week he also laid down basic tracking for @SheilaEdrummer #NextTimeWipeTheLipstickOffYourCollar & #WeCanFunk for @george_clinton - #JillJones #SAIMH #PrincetwitterThread @jilldjones

Ironically #SAIMH is seen as an apology (from @prince & we'll get 2 that) I question his sincerity. He'd written songs about/for @jilldjones b4 (#LadyCabDriver etc) & later (#JillJones LP) But the genesis of SAIMH dates back 18 months earlier in Dec 1983.

What inspired how the song #SAIMH came to be in the version we now know it is quite the story. Famously, the song details the persistence of his then, on/off again girlfriend we would later come to know as the Force of nature known as @jilldjones
