The visit aimed to appreciate and reinforce multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms crucial for the effective implementation of the #SAYProgramme, especially across humanitarian and host communities grappling with the effects of teenage pregnancy and GBV.
The team was warmly received by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), who commended the programme’s impactful work in Lamwo. He emphasized the government’s commitment to sustaining efforts that are empowering adolescents and reducing cases of GBV and early pregnancies.
When partnerships meet purpose, change becomes unstoppable.
To strengthen strategic alliances and deepen political ownership of the #SAYProgramme, a high-level donor delegation, @UNFPAUganda, @DKinUganda, @SwedeninUG, and partners paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the President in Lamwo District.
This week, together with Lutheran World Federation (LWF) held a joint flash mob & integrated outreach in Sukari. The initiative brought vital services closer, from family planning & child immunization to HIV testing & counselling.

Today, @DKinUganda and @UNFPAUganda handed over two vehicles to @MarieStopesUg and @NaguruC to enhance their capacity to deliver Sexual and Reproductive Health services to young people in Acholi and West Nile regions under the #SAY empowerment program funded by @DKinUganda
Through this journey, selected peer educators and youth leaders are being empowered with the knowledge, skills, and tools to become champions of SHR awareness and services, bringing vital information closer to their communities, one village at a time.
