๐ณ๏ธBILL UPDATE: Thank you to my colleagues in the Senate Natural Resources Committee for passing #SB953 today. This legislation is a direct response to last yearโs #OCOilSpill and creates an off-ramp to stop offshore oil production at the stateโs three remaining oil platforms. 1/3
#SB953 would phase out offshore oil drilling in CA State Waters. The opposition is actually arguing that offshore drilling is "safer" than shipping oil via tankers. And making racist arguments about "foreign" oil. So typical.
