@SUSgeosci @MrsMlovesSci @PracticeScience @AJTF71 @DJGteaching @MaryMyatt I do love using the Frayer model- i don't think i use it as often as I could though- it really is great for misconceptions- I always worry that if I'm not careful the pupils might only remember the misconception though so it has to be well planned

ππ₯‘π₯‘ are - more reading in my science lessons, especially leaving a margin for students to write questions, keywords. Using the Freya model for a keyword in each topic. Topic organiser focused on keywords. Thanks guys.π₯°

Fantastic talk on breaking down the language and literacy barriers by @AJTF71 at the #SIPCON2020. @PracticeScience Read out to your classes. Look at the command words across subjects -do they mean the same in English, Science, geography?
So many takeaways from the fantastic Literacy in Science conference @PracticeScience. Great @catharineEAL talking about training students how to use textbooks. How text is produced on the page is so important for #EAL learners #SIPCON2020
An absolute privilege and inspiration to hear @MaryMyatt speak at #SIPcon2020 thank you so much πππ

A Saturday morning well spent listening to some great speakers on the #SIPcon2020. My head is filled with ideas. My key takeaways are: make time for reading and plan it into the curriculum and the use of the Frayer model. I simply cannot wait to put these things into practice.
So many notes π

#SIPcon2020 @PracticeScience π π₯‘ π₯‘ you need to develop your own literacy before you can do so for the students and if you want the students to do well in something, you must model this and give practice time
Incredible morning enjoying listening to the Science in Practice conference - so many ideas and suggestions to think about and take forward from every session delivered.
Thank you so much to @PracticeScience for #SIPcon2020
