“We cannot interpret data only on the basis of what is actually present, because we do not know if absence forms means lack of knowledge of forms.”

I saw this video about motivation in SLA and it’s inspired me that there are a different stages in the way of learning a second language that 1️⃣ begins with making a decision and the desire to go through this journey

Once my dad told me: “when you learn a language, you have to know how to refine it”.
Actually, that crossed my mind when we mentioned the four IL processes that the L2 learners use to build and refine their interlanguage😁.
This subject is complicated, but it is beautiful and, interesting with MS Hajar 💘💘🙏🏻 @Hajar_khalifa20

What happens between two languages⬇️#SLAcourse2020

I like the information that says our knowledge of the L1 can affect our L2, we transfer everything from L1 to the L2 like the pronunciation of the words or interpretation of sentences. #SLAcourse2020
OK ! Today we talked about HOW it’s normal for us as a language learners to be slow to process and apply our knowledge, it’s not something ppl can judge us with , WE R JUST NORMAL

Is the process of SLA exactly the same as 1L acquisition?
They are similar in several points, but we can not say that they are exactly the same.
“Sometimes the two meet and sometimes they are completely different camps”( Marjo Mitsutomi ).

The first time I saw the term “Intake”, I thought it’s just a synonym for "Input” until my instrocture @Hajar_khalifa20 clarified the different terms with an amazing explanation showed me that the “Intake” is like the distance between the input and the output🙏🏻😁.
#SLAcourse2020 The input refers to the processible language the learners are exposed to while listening or reading (i.e. The receptive skills). The output, on the other hand, is the language they produce, either in speaking or writing (i.e. The productive skills).
#SLAcourse2020 the need of using input and output equally.
