Reflecting on the human cost of road crashes, Mr Kananura noted that 15 lives had been lost, with many others injured. He called for stronger preventive action to ensure fewer families have to suffer such losses.

Mr Kananura also addressed corruption on the roads, emphasising that both the giver and receiver of a bribe are responsible. He urged road users to refuse bribery and follow the proper legal process when cited for an offence.
