And for balance, a comment in defence of govt comms depts from Dame Sally Davies @CMO_England in the audience: “They can actually be terribly useful: they help you think through what message you want to get across. They can help you do your job better as a scientist.” #smcdebate

Are scientists the custodians and communicators of knowledge? If they get involved in advocacy are they undermining/compromising value of knowledge? I think not #smcdebate
