I attended #SOCML's session on AI, Social Impact and Public Goods today. Related topics have intrigued me for quite some time now, and it was great to hear the thoughts of leading researchers in the field.

Speaking about @InclusionInML, my first experience in AI conferences showed me how people from developing/less-developed countries don’t have much presence there. In #SOCML, I was the only Egyptian person/girl there and I was able to make it because of SOCML’s travel grant.

Sad to report that #socml set the bar way too high! I was disappointed with #NeurIPS today, it was nowhere close to as fun as SOCML. I suspect the NeurIPS workshops on Friday/Saturday will be much more fun. #socml2018 #NeurIPS2018
Had a great time in Toronto attending #socml. It's a very refreshing, laid-back and truly informative conference full of wonderful people from a very diverse set of backgrounds. Kudos to @goodfellow_ian and the rest of the Google team for organizing it.
