Hopefully the next new SOS game will be as good as Trio of Towns. It's arguably the best SOS game.
The next SOS game should take notes from Trio of Towns.

These two games are so good they deserve a Switch or PC port. Especially since the 3DS Nintendo Eshop will be shutting down soon.
Switch/PC port when?

So, have you played ToT? How did you like it?
I can see copies are still available and reasonably priced - maybe you'll consider picking it up?
I can only say: It's the perfect pick-me-up! 🍶

The game is clearly designed to be appealing to younger players as well - the Options screen demonstrates that - but don't let that put you off! I can see the tasks and challenges mounting over time.

And that's all I can tell you so far about ToT. I can't wait each day to get back to my lil farm .. there are always new events and features popping up, just when you think it might get too routine or repetitive.

Then, you meet a cute water nymph, and she's tech savvy 😁 and handles wireless play (co-op and online) for exploring islands with friends.
This sounds delightful 😎 - I wonder if the server still operates? 🤔 Likely not ..

The other 2 towns are Lulukoko, a Hawaiian town built on sandy beaches, and Tsuyukusa, a traditional Japanese village with the colour palette of a woodblock print. They unlock through the simple passage of time.

I love the ease of menu access for farming tools, and field jobs are quickly done with one long press of the A button. Slog reduced! 👍
Progress occurs via your ranking with the 3 towns, which means being diligent about all aspects of work and town life.

.. relaxing (but not soporific!) and chill experience. Perfect for winding down with at the end of the day; or for a quick spot of watering or moo brushing in between! 😀
Or fishing .. it's all quite addictive! 🎣

Y'all know I'm a #RuneFactory gal, less into pure farming sims.
This probably explains why I hadn't played ToT before. I didn't get far into the original #SoS (2015) .. that's another story for another day!
I always mistakenly thought ToT was a minor addition..

Yoshifumi Hashimoto is again at the production helm. In ToT, the new feature is that there are 3 towns, each with their own distinct culture and lifestyle.
I haven't unlocked the other 2 yet - but I'm really excited for them!

Please do watch the complete animated title sequence above and here (pt.2) - it's one of the loveliest I've ever seen on 3DS!
It promises great love & care in how it was made - and I'm happy to say that is not an empty promise. 🐑🐓🐮

.. the whole tortuous back history of how the franchise was split between 2 developers/publishers.

ToT was released in the West Feb 2017 in NA and Oct 2017 in Europe and Australia.
«Well, here we are. This is your farm. Nice and big, ain't it?»
Coming back here is always nice.
I think I'll marry Yuzuki, this time. 💙
