Today, our #NTIHCstaff has successfully held a CSO coordination-strengthening meeting in Buikwe district under STAR-C, engaging implementing partners & district representatives in a discussion on strategies to reduce the HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in their district.

Our #NTIHCstaff, with support from @GileadSciences, is implementing the STAR-C Project in the districts of Mukono and Buikwe, with the aim of reducing the #HIV prevalence amongst Fisher folk, Female CSW and PLHIV, to mention but a few.

In a CSO strengthening workshop that took place in Mukono district, we deliberated on reducing HIV incidences amongst the fisher folk, female sex workers & PLHIV in the 2 central regional districts of Mukono & Buikwe that have a high proportion of key populations.

Today, our #NTIHCstaff under the #STARCUG project, worked together with Makonge Health Centre staff to conduct a KP outreach at the Bufumbe landing site in Kiyindi town council.
We aimed to strengthen the HIV/AIDS response and reduce HIV incidence in the area.

While offering support supervision to health facilities, medical personnel, in their feedback, speak of young people holding back from coming for SRHR services & information.

Building community resilience against HIV/AIDS not only reduces risks of infection but also prevents reinfection/superinfection (when an HIV-positive person is infected with a second strain of HIV). This is achievable through empowering health workers.

Today, our #NTIHCstaff successfully conducted a Quarterly performance review meeting at Buikwe district headquarters, for the #STARCUG project.
This district review meeting went well, and the team on ground appreciated the work and support of NTIHC during implementation.
