At that time, #stopSOP sweeped the Bencher Election.
Four years later, the Good Governance Coalition has sweeped our industry. Grateful for candidates like @nurodrig19, @QuinnMRoss and @atrishalewis whom stepped up to the challenge,

Holding back🤢when I see lawyers who refuse to shun/call out law firms/lawyers who make💰off of, engage in, abet, gaslight or defend anti-Black racism, running to be benchers on the "Good Governance Coalition" platform.
At least the #STOPSOP group aren't fake.

I feel 🤢 when I 👀 lawyers running to be a @LawSocietyLSO bencher under the "Good Governance Coalition" when they/their firms have been SILENT about anti-Black racism in @ONgov & they refuse to shun firms/LLBs that abuse Black 🧔🏾♂️👩🏾👶🏾. They're no better than the #StopSOP group.
Today I voted in support of sustainable funding for local law libraries. Unfortunately, the #stopsop slate did not.

and aren't negatively impacting anyone. I am embarrassed for the profession that these #stopsop'ers continually raise these sorts of issues and have to be beaten back time and again. Surely there are better uses of everybody's time. /2
Reading some of the comments from today’s vote on the #stopsop benchers’ motion has been upsetting. The desire to want people to pronounce one’s name correctly isn’t about being “woke” or lacking “tough skin”, it’s a desire for basic respect. Belittling that desire is offensive.
Thankfully, the #stopsop benchers’ motion to eliminate the professional name reader at calls to the bar (hired so that names can be correctly pronounced) has failed. Thank you @SABAToronto for your very important submission on this important equity issue.

The webcast of LSO Convocation April 28 is finally available so we're taking names and pointing out some weak arguments made by some Benchers opposed to minimum compensation standards. Let's make this info accessible so buckle up, it's gonna be a long one.

I wasn’t aware that “free speech” was a synonym for “don’t pay articling students minimum wage.” The #StopSOP slate must be using a special thesaurus.
@atrishalewis It's disgusting that there was organized and almost fifty percent opposition to fair wage for our newest and often youngest lawyers. Shame on #stopsop
They #stopsop slate all vote against paying students a minimum wage. I guess it was all about free speech after all.
Exhibit A as to why Bencher elections matter: I am at the @LawSocietyLSO Convocation (board mtg) today and #StopSOP slate members say publicly that there is no longer a need for our “superfluous” Equity Advisory Group and we should abandon “equity” goals. Vote them out in 2023.
