A very useful talk addressed to young generation of #heliophysics #researchers - participants of #SWATNet School 2 - was given today by Ioanna Tsagouri from Nat.Obs.Athens. She explained the aspects of performance verification and validation of #spaceweather forecasting methods.
#SWATNet School, Day 2 log: Ari Viljanen from the Finnish Meteorological Institute spoke about #spaceweather, geomagnetic disturbances and geomagnetically induced currents (GIC). The motivation to study GIC is the harmful effects that they may have especially on power grids ⤵️
